While walking around the beautiful streets of Gloucester, I had a very unexpected and special moment. A kind gentleman passed by riding a classic Penny-farthing, also known as a High Wheel bicycle.
He even smiled and said hello as he rode past me. Luckily, I managed to capture this rare and beautiful moment on video.
The Penny-farthing bicycle is a historic design from the 19th century, famous for its very large front wheel and small rear wheel. Seeing one on the street today is incredibly rare, especially in the modern world where bicycles look very different.
Moments like this remind us that history can still appear in the most unexpected places. I’m happy I could capture and share this unique sight with you.
