Still not sure whether to visit Paris or the French Riviera on your France trip? In Part 2 of our Paris weekend, we show you once again: you can absolutely do both. Less than six hours by TGV from Nice or Cannes — and a whole city waiting to be explored, beyond the obvious.

We’re Anja and Aila from Riviera Go, and this is Day 2 (and a last Sunday morning) of our perfect Paris weekend. No tourist queues, no checklist — just great food, hidden gems, and the Paris that Parisians actually love.

📍 𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼:
🛍️ Le Bon Marché — the world’s first department store, right on the Left Bank
🍽️ Le Procope — one of the oldest restaurants in the world, and Napoleon’s unpaid bill
🔬 Musée Curie — Marie Curie’s original laboratory, free to enter and almost unknown
⚰️ The Panthéon — where Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie and Simone Veil rest
☕ Coffee with a view of the Panthéon
🌊 Canal Saint-Martin — where locals spend their Saturday evenings
🌿 Parc de Belleville — our alternative viewpoint over Paris, with a Sunday morning picnic

𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 1? We cover the TGV from Cannes, lunch at Le Train Bleu, the Musée d’Orsay, a Batobus cruise on the Seine, and a spring evening in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. 👉 https://youtu.be/Bn7-EIWDV5g

🚄 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀
Many visitors don’t realize how easy this is: direct TGV trains connect Nice and Cannes with Paris in under six hours, making it perfectly possible to combine the French Riviera and Paris in a single trip.

  1. We always love discovering new spots through your comments — is there anything in Paris we absolutely have to try next time? Hit us with your best tips! 👇

  2. Before I started watching this episode, an image of an intro popped into my mind:

EXT. DAY. PRESENT: AILA and ANYA are seated very close together, almost "cheek-to-cheek." We PUSH IN ON their FACES as each introduces themselves. Then we PULL OUT to see Aila & Anya and the BACKGROUND as they both introduce the location.

    ^ AILA
    ^ (In English}
    Hi, I'm Aila.

    ^ ANYA
    ^ (In French)
    Bonjour. Je suis Anya.

(Aila and Anya say their location at the same time. As they direct the AUDIENCE'S ATTENTION to the BACKGROUND.)

    ^ AILA and ANYA
    ^ (Speaking simultaneously)
    We're in… (Insert location here).

^EXT. DAY. FORWARD: A SERIES OF SHOTS:
    A. TOURISTIC SIGHTS: E.g.: HISTORICAL MONUMENTS, MUSEUMS, ARTWORK etc.
    B. LOCALS' GEMS: E.g.: LOCALS' (FREE) PARKS, RECREATION etc.
    C. RESTAURANTS: E.g.: MARQUEES, FACADES, PATIOS, FOOD & COCKTAILS etc.
    D. SHOPPING: E.g.: DEPARTMENT STORES, FRESH MARKETS, CLOTHES etc.

    ^ CUT TO:

Sounds quirky and old fashioned. But, with the right music it could be fun and easily repeatable per production. Anyway, another good episode.

  3. Thank you for sharing Paris with us. When you were there, did you buy a Navigo pass ? If yes, did you need a picture for your pass ? We often read about pickpockets for example in the subway. Did you encounter any problems ? Merci !

  4. Ladies love your work – particularly your new Paris part 2 episode! We’ve been your fans for a few years now and it brings back great memories of our past trips and helps plan future ones (hopefully).
One tip from an old reporter re: Curie and Pantheon – lead ( as in metal lining of Curie’s coffin ) should be pronounced as led in English – spelled as lead but pronounced as led. I think you mentioned it twice – once at the Curie museum and once at the Pantheon.
    It’s a tricky one…just wanted to help…

We stayed twice at the Hotel du Pantheon about 15 years ago and love this district so much ( as well as Nice) so thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures.
