Can’t find the right spokes for my build. I’ve ordered and returned a few sets of spokes trying to find the right fit for my Bitex RAF12 20h front hub and hsons architect rims. The latest set is 2 mm longer at 294 td Swiss performance, but the J seems short, I had to slightly force it into the flange a little. Is this something that flattens out, is it normal to apply pressure?
Replaced broken nipples before with no issue, when my hub cracked I bough a new one along with spokes, but my nipples would crack every few weeks. Tried getting longer spikes but haven’t found a set that sits properly like the fist set that was too short.
Chat says the day Swiss performance follows the standard for j spokes and should fit.

It is normal to need to give the “heads-in” spokes some extra bend.
It’s normal to have to set the spoke path at the J bend during the build, and tension will do the rest. Lace the wheel, then weave a screwdriver, drum stick or dowel rod to [bend](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5YdkChLzkX/?igsh=MWVhOTh2ejlxbnBtag==) the J-bend so the spokes sit supported on the flange.
