Have two main thoughts.
1 – should I buy a bran new pre built machine – probably a canyon grizel / trek checkpoint.
2 – I buy a bike like this second hand. Built from scratch with high-end components for the same price as something new.
Is the bike worth the price. (Prices are in Australian dollars)

Not super familiar with Wanderer, but saw a custom painted curve for 6500 in Melbourne.
Can def get a Waltly fully custom for you and the parts you want for a cheaper price, but will have to wait a while.
I mean, if you have the skills and know-how on building a bike from scratch, you got nothing to lose except time. You would lack warranty if something is wrong with the components you do keep, so you need to be absolutely certain about their quality.
Conversely, if you are not confident in your skill, or miss certain flaws in the parts that you will retain (micro fractures for example), you might end up with a worse bike and spend even more money to fix it.
Tl;dr: depends on your skill and on how much time you’d want to spend on it before being able to use it.
