I have a road helmet with detachable visor, although I never use it anymore since I prefer my photochromic glasses (also for dark days / night). Next helmet will definitely be MTB style

Edit: I also started doing some Mountain biking

  2. I’ve got met rivale, I think it’s an MTB helmet. I think it doesn’t really matter as long as don’t use that front thingy on the MTB helmet

Its gravel, bring whatever the f*ck you want. 😉

I normally run my MTB helmet. Now that I got a lightweight helmet for on the road bike I use that too sometimes. Especially for climbing since its much better ventilated.

  4. It’s not a sun visor. It doesn’t sit in a place to do that. These days it’s as much about looks and fashion than anything meaningful.

It’s more about your riding position. If you have a more aggressive riding position then a helmet visor would possibly obscure your vision. Road helmets and lack of visors are for that riding position as well as aerodynamics.

  5. I use whatever fits.
I have a big head, most helmets don’t fit me. Last 2 helmets I bought, one was an MTB helmet, the other looks more middle of the road. It’s a bit crap though, so looking for something to replace it with.

MTB fox speed frame… also style reason but I like the visor – can take off visor to look more roadie too…

I had Fox MTB helmet that fit perfectly but wanted road helmet, bought poc but to small, then bought met but toi small again, finally got road helmet tuhat fits from Giro.

  9. Follow the theme of your kit. If you ride in road tight fit gonfor road helmet. If you ride in baggy clothes, a mtb helmet looks alright.
