I am my mom’s caretaker and she has been fixing bikes since the 70’s. She lost cognition and mobility for a while but is doing wonderfully now! We tinker and keep bikes out of the dump (where she used to work!)
Anyway, this woman reached out to me and was so kind and also excited about a bike we had. She hadn’t ridden in nine years so it was great to get her back on wheels! She had the idea to make this – I provided the wheel and she did an amazing job! Now we need to find the right fork and build a mount of sorts.
Just wanted to share!

This is such a cool collaboration. The way she used the different colored glass to catch light through the spokes is really clever, way better than just leaving it as a wheel. Hope you find the right fork setup for it, that piece deserves a good home.

  2. So neat! Im truly curious, will this be ridden? If so i wonder how wheel flexing will impact the integrity of it physically. Hella neat <3.
