First – let's just celebrate… I joined the fold! I'm so excited about this bike and cannot wait to use it on my daily commute. My very first Brompton.
However when I opened up the box, the bike I received is different than the one pictured. I purchased a Grade A renewed bike from the US distributor – this is the link I used and price I paid. Specifically went with the one that had black cranks, black fenders, black seat post, and black bars etc.- even paid a little more than the "Silver" one.
Unfortunately when I opened up the box, it looks like I may have received a different spec – is this normal?
I'm a little bummed it's not what was pictured … What would you do?

Firstly I would not be posting this on reddit, I would be contacting the distributor. You were not provided with the item you paid for, pretty straight forward.
I think black parts are now standard, they changed from silver parts a few years ago so your particular bike might be a few years old, the frame number will give the production date. I bought a renew Brompton direct from Brompton and it was 2 years old but in mint condition.
Your second link is a B grade so it would be slightly cheaper.
Hi OP, can’t tell you about price difference as I’m in a different country, but on sales agreements at least here, when you click buy you you enter into an agreement the supplier should either deny the purchase if not available, or discuss with you if they are going to fulfill with a different product, especially if you have paid a premium.
Here you should now contact the store and state bike is not as described and you are entitled to a refund or replacement, if unable to comply say, I formally reject the incorrect item.
This should be followed up with an email.
Something along the lines of
name person you spoke to of shop, from you.
I purchased the following bike specification, i informed you that you have sent the incorrect bike, you stated that (whatever they say) i informed you that I formally rejected the incorrect bike, and that you need to arrange collection and refund, or replacement with the specification that I ordered/ or i agreed to accept the delivered bike you agreed to the following discount plus the difference of the silver to black bike ordered.
Dated and signed electronically
PS don’t forget might just have been a mistake
PPS hope you get sorted to your satisfaction and look forward to seeing a picture of your new Brompton,
You didn’t get what you bought OP id be having a word with Brompton.
