Looking to buy a bike for an upgrade from my current bike. This bike is light and has di2 components. Seller isn’t selling the wheels and garmin. It is the di2 and the charger is included. It is listed for $1000. The general frame is a little scratched and has a like a dink on the carbon on the top tube. Coin test was fine and that spot does not feel soft according to seller. I would ofc check jn person but asking for opinions.

I would pass on this. The dura-ace 9000 di2 seems very enticing, but it’s second gen di2 that came out in 2013. The e-tube cables for it are still sold so getting those parts for it like the junction boxes and cables in case something breaks isn’t that hard as shimano used that system up until their last gen di2 which was like 2022, but it’s still quite old. Additionally, no wheels is a huge bummer and would add a pretty hefty additional cost for you as putting anything other than some carbon or high-end alloy wheels would seem like a compromise for this.
Also, the prominent top tube scratches are a tad concerning. The fact that a tap test was even done kind of adds suspicion to that. If it truly and appeared to be just a scratch on the clear coat, then a tap test is hardly ever warranted. This is easily much deeper than just a superficial scratch. If you’re unsure about something and you weren’t the original owner of it and did not own the bike for its entirety, I’d avoid. More likely than not, this was crashed and the reason they did the tap test with a coin was more for ease of mind; but this is far from a fool proof way of knowing if carbon has delaminated or cracked.
The hidden rear brake under the bottom bracket also majorly sucked…
