Hi everyone,

I’m having a really frustrating issue with my Canyon Grizl CF SL 8.

Every time I remove the front wheel and then reinstall it, the front brake pads start rubbing against the rotor. I use Shimano GRX. This means I have to realign or adjust something almost every time, making it impossible to quickly remove and reinstall the wheel when loading the bike into my car.

The bike is equipped with a thru-axle, and the wheel seems to sit correctly in the fork. However, after reinstalling it, I can clearly hear and feel the brake rub.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

What could be causing this?

Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Mnighthamalam on

Take your wheel out, place a folded piece of card around the rotor, and put it back in (it will be a tight squeeze against the callipers). Then squeeze your break levers, and remove the card. You should find they are spaced correctly. In future, try to avoid touching brake levers when the wheel is removed, as this may be causing them to realign when the disc brake isn’t in there

  2. Carry a tool in the car to push the pads back. Cheap on ali.

    Install wheel
Gently pull the brake a few times. Go ride.

Easier than centering using the bolts

  3. Lose brake screws

Brake. Now brake is in perfect position.
    Tighten screws very slow.

    You’ll perfextionize this quick
