Me and my s.o. cycled up the west coast of Denmark. Seven days and about 707km in total. We were lucky with the weather, no headwind most of the time and very little rain! The Vestkystenruten is super easy to follow, you dont need GPS imo. Food was great, you can find many little cafes along the route. I can really recommend this to my european friends!

I love Denmark. My next tour will cover the entire North Sea Cycle Route, followed by the ride back to Flensburg. The shelters in Denmark are fantastic. Thanks for the nice pictures. Canβ€˜t waitfor my tour.

  2. Another Dane here. I am so jealous, though I wad lucky to spend a week with lovely weather in Hvide Sande with my parents in the last week of May πŸ˜„ I hope to go back and do that route by bike next time I travel in that direction.

I dont know if it is part or the of the route, but I highly recommend making a detour to Blaabjerg plantage. It is a really beatuful and interesting forest and it has a MTB track. Most of the forest is very accessible with a bike. Loads of nice gravel roads and a little single track.

I’ve been there in the last two weeks. Realy great. But the east cost with it’s hillhs and, in particularally, Aarhus, are even greater.
