I like the look of the fat bike. I live in Southern Louisiana and rarely go off-roading. But I like to have the option.
im looking at the firm strong Rebel by xdsbike company, at 55 pounds, how does a fat bike handle and how hard is it on mostly roads?
and yes, I need a step-through (hip replacement).

Didn’t you already post this? Why again?
This is purely a bike for looks and style rather than something designed for efficient cycling. A cruiser style bike with more typical width tires is going to be a much better ride. But if you’re looking for a bike that looks good over how it actually rides then fair enough.
55lbs is insanely heavy for a bike. But if you’re not dealing with hills, it won’t matter too much. Tire pressure is going to be key, you’ll want to keep the tires inflated pretty solid for efficient riding.
As far as “off road” it depends what you mean by that. On flat gravel and dirt it should be fine. But if you’re talking about green bike trails or harder, sand, snow, mud it’ll be just about useless.
If you want it go for it! Check out state bikes they have a fatbike that is probably way lighter than 55 lbs
