Hello, I wanted to replace my bb with another model and got stuck like 2mm before the lip of the bb reached the frame.

My first analysis of the problem is that the threads on the bottome bracket stops way before the lip while the thread on my bike are almost flush.

My instinct is that I will destroy my thread on the bike if I apply more torque.

In my previous bb, it wasn't like this.

Edit it's a E model bottom bracket designed for a braced front derailleur.. hence the issue.

Thanks for the comments.

  1. Pacificator-3 on

Seems that they have different threads. There are two standards: metric and imperial (inch). They have close, but different, pitch and diameter.

  2. Thanks for the answers. It’s a standard bsa68mm.

The option of a special model for dérailleur could be the one.

    Here is the model part: bbun300 e bc137 68 ll123

    ( I’ll check on my own )
