Czech police chase with cyclist – a police chase after someone on a bike? This was wild and a first for me to see lol.
He actually had a chance there in the beginning… but come on, you’re not outrunning the police on a bike. The whole thing had me laughing the entire time.
As an American, European police chases always feel so different. Brits, Czechs, or anyone who’s seen crazy pursuits — how does this one rank? Drop your thoughts below! 🚲🚔🇨🇿

  1. A police officer said to a man in a van (delivering groceries) "Good job". The cyclist entered a tunnel under Prague, called Blanka, which facilitates traffic in the city. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

  2. Ive always had the same sentiment for cyclists as I have for jaywalking, its probably not gonna damage the car much so you are taking "all" the risks, let ppl risk their life and natural selection do its thing…
But damn those cops lines are sending me xDD

  3. Honestly czechia is not fuck*ng around with police chases or detaining, even if it is like a shoplifter, when they start running then they won’t be friendly (I am czech)

  4. This is our neighborhood. His first offense was turning left while there was no road to he left, you should only be able to go straight or right. So that is how he caught their eyes. Then they followed him through a park, those are neither roads nor cycle paths, but regular sidewalks. Then the cyclist enters the highway ring tunnel of Prague in a car only tunnel and he enters the tunnel tube which is for the opposite direction. And so on. He was found to have meth on him and in him. This is at the tunnel exit Malovanka, Prague 6.

  5. Czech cops are well known for endangering people who get in the way of their important work. This cyclist ran a red light, so the cops drove their car through a pedestrian park. They love to escalate, but when there was a terrorist shooting, they quite literally stood chicken behind a corner and did nothing for half an hour.

  6. On a Czech satirical website I recently saw an "article title" that said something like "New study finds that in most road, water and air accidents a cyclist is at fault". This may have been satire, but my experience with Czech police is that they really think like that. And if they have to run a car at high speed through some narrow side walks in a park to get that cyclist, they will. Because if they kill a pedestrian while doing it, it is the cyclist's fault, isn't it? They had to.

  7. 3:10 bro the 200 is like an upper limit when paid on the spot. I am Czech and I once ran a red light in prague on my small escooter and got out with a warning. You can always disagree with the police when it comes to misdemeanors, but then it goes to a city council to decide if you actually done a misdemeanor or not and if yes, the maximum punishment is usually worse than what the maximum is if you agree with the police on the spot.

Btw this guy had an equivalent of a warrant

4:27 The policeman comes to the car and looks at the side of the car that blocked the cyclist and says: "Do you have anything there? (a scratch) and continues: "It looks good" and the man in the car replies "good, I just pushed it in there so he wouldn't go any further" and the policeman shakes his hand and says: "Good job"
Aby jsi veděl co přesně říka

  9. The same in the Netherlands, cyclists must obey the rules of the road and are also seen as drivers. You can't be drunk on your bicycle, you can't go through a red traffic light.
In the Netherlands we do have police on bicycles but also on horses.

  10. He might be running, because he might have some alcohol in his blood which would escalate it to a way more serious issue. In Czechia, if you are convicted and sentenced, the verdict is public information which if you were considered a decent person until then means practically the end of your normal life. You typically lose your job, you get divorced, your former friends, if they are about to run across you rather cross the street to avoid you, you stop to exist for your larger family… etc

  11. In the Czech Republic, it is illegal to ride a bicycle across a pedestrian crossing or on sidewalks in general, as those are reserved for pedestrians only. Furthermore, if there is a traffic light signal, it is illegal to enter the crossing until the green light turns on for pedestrians.
