Hi, I'm fairly new to cycling. I'm generally an active person who enjoys being outdoors, and I'm just starting to buy proper cycling gear. This is also my first proper cycling jersey.

I really like how this jersey fits my body, except around the shoulders and arms. It feels especially tight around the armpit, where the seam is.

Also, as soon as I start unzipping it, the zipper keeps opening by itself, as shown in the video. I think it might be because the jersey is a bit tight across my chest.

From the video, do you think it's too small? Maybe someone with more experience than me can tell more easily.

Personally, I like very tight fit on jerseys, second skin like. You shouldn’t have any wrinkles. You should try a smaller size.

  2. Not sure what brand that is, but I have a similar build and I have similar issues with lower end jerseys. The more expensive ones (generally) have better fabric that stretches more easily

  3. Cycling jerseys are always going to be tight on you because you don’t have the noodle arms cyclists try to obtain for efficiency purposes. I’m build similar to you, I always size to the tightest sleeves that don’t cut off circulation. I like vests sometimes for this reason as well, I can go another size down in a vest from what I can manage with sleeves. Most people in the real world would probably tell you I’m thin/skinny but I have to wear an XL Assos jersey lol.

  4. Your torso is too short for that jersey. I’m not sure I’d like that chunky zipper.

  5. Standing up, it’s going to fit wrong as its designed to fit you hunched over the bars. You should be able to breath fine, minimal wrinkles on the body and the pockets shouldn’t droop massively when you put things in it

Different brands (and even different models of the same brand) have different cuts, go to a shop that has a fair selection of brands and try them on.
