🇩🇪 Augsburg & Munich, Germany 🇩🇪

Sometimes the best trips are the simple ones.

On May 31st, Joy and I headed out for a relaxing overnight getaway to two of Bavaria’s most beautiful cities. Our first stop was historic Augsburg, where we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Henry’s overlooking Rathausplatz before spending the afternoon exploring this charming city on foot.

From the beautiful buildings along Maximilianstraße to the impressive Basilica of St. Ulrich and Afra, we wandered through the picturesque Lechviertel district before returning to the heart of the city and visiting the fascinating Fuggerei, the world’s oldest social housing complex still in use today. It was a peaceful and thoroughly enjoyable day.

Later in the afternoon, we made our way to Munich and checked into the Hilton Munich City. After a little rest, we ventured into the city center and enjoyed an evening stroll around Marienplatz. Although the weather brought occasional rain showers, it only added to the atmosphere as we explored the beautiful square and made a quick visit inside the magnificent Frauenkirche.

After walking back toward the hotel, we picked up some delicious takeout from Kimbu Korean Kimbap & Burger and called it a night, thankful for another wonderful adventure together.

Sometimes, all you need is good company, beautiful cities, and a leisurely walk to appreciate the beauty around you.

Another memorable visit to lovely Bavaria.
