Just seen that on the book of face, and it looks like a bean can has more structural integrity. He is very much of the opinion it had nothing to do with him, but Brompton must be thinking wtf happened on that line.

Looking at the debris and how the metal broke. It looks like a lot of force was used. Just an opinion.

Ya since it’s along the weld it may be that the heat & temper was off for this one, def concerning tho! That said you don’t know if they were trying to huck to flat either.

This is the sort of failure where even if they suspect abuse, Brompton should be paying the owner to ship it back to them for analysis.
I wouldn’t expect that to happen if I hucked it off a five foot drop. It looks like the upper crown race acted as a wedge to peel it open along the edge of the braze.

It’s not the weld though. Alongside it and there is metal dust. Kind of hard to tear metal. Not impossible though.

Well, this is my literal fucking worst nightmare. I spend a lot of time going downhill on my commute. Quickly, in traffic, bouncing out of and dodging potholes. If this suddenly happened to me, I’ll be lucky to avoid a coma.

This combined with that case where the G line broke at the mounting block area makes the G line looks pretty bad. Maybe in their quest to make the headtube outer diameter the same as the T line means the steel on the G line is too thin?

Have the same model and the build quality is °shit and troublesome compared to my older C line

Well that’s a nightmare.
Well that’s put a pause on should I get a G line!
