Why as you had full access to the bottom bracket not remove it? even just to check/clean the bb shell and grease the cup threads so future removal/replacement is a breeze…..especially as this bike is quite old and that bb may not have ever been out since the factory….🤔
Hello bike speeds can you help me i need a rear 180mm is mount what size bolt length and size will I need for my brake caliper my brake is a shimano mt200 could you help
I really enjoy your videos. An suggestion, maybe show with text on the video, the torque settings as an overlay everytime you show the use of the torque wrench. I know that will help me alot as a hobby mechanic to see 🙂
Great job and nice to see even lower-end models with the components rather in the entry to mid price range getting some care and attention, of course the mid- to high ones like SLX, XT, XTR, 105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace, GX Eagle, XX Eagle, Force and Red are nice to see but also these with 3×8, 3×9 and 3×10 are a little outdated at first glance but they aren't that hard to adjust for DIY and cassettes, chains etc. are almost dirt cheap, a couple of 8 speed cassettes are available for <20 bucks. Have a 3×8 with Alivio rear derailleur (stll have an Acera one laying around as I didn't have threadlocker and the cage fell apart just after a few kilometres, I'll maybe rebuild it with new bolts and bearing jockey wheels) and it's more than enough as it's a pub bike, for going to the city, grocery shopping and to the main station (don't feel that good if I would leave one of my other bikes that cost beyond a thousand bucks (or a little less but they were still by far not the cheapest) there).
Long time without commenting! I used to owm a silver paint Trek DS 8.2 😢 they used to call it "hybrid". Great fun commuter bike. I now have several more dedicated bikes, and far less time to tinker and comment. Much love!

Nice one BS!
Great work. Good communication skills!!!!
It's always a great day when you guys upload a video! Another fine job, done to perfection. 🧡
The "good old regular oil" that your refer to at 5.55 – can you give us a spec for it / or example? (What is "good old regular" exactly?)
I work for Trek. The labour put into that bike….. should have just bought a new one
That's a full restoration, not just a service lol

fabulous job 👏
Another great watch 😎🚴💨
Dry lube is a scam!
Worst thing I had was a customer ( a chef) who used olive oil on his chain. Absolute bonkers!
Great job on the service and the video, as always.
Excellent video 🏆 🏆 🏆
Can we please not use “very old” for a bike new enough to have disk breaks?
Which Shimano chain did you use for the 8 speed Acera?
Fantastic job. Trek are nice bikes, hope you and Simon are keeping well.
What volume is the ultrasonic cleaner? Is it 6 liter?

6.39 is the cassette missing a pin/bolt? Looks like there should be 3 silver Allen bolts, but there are 2 and a hole.

I live in Coventry and would like my hardtail mountain bike servicing please.
