  1. Took my first trail ride in a year after breaking my wrist last summer. I’m in the parking lot doing the mandatory suspension squish test and tried to endo, proceeded to slip a pedal and wreck my shin lol. Better than another bone ig

  2. That’s the right of passage tattoo. Get a pair of gloves. You can’t ride with a raw palm.✋

  3. Cycling in the rain?

One reason I got clipless pedals is that my feet are more secure when it’s raining.

  4. I agree with the other comments saying that it looks more like the chainring caused that than the pedals. GWS op, happens to the best of us.

I’ve been biking since I was about 6 and I’m 55 and I’ve never been able to give myself such a tattoo.

I’m really wondering how this happened?

two months in and you’re collecting battle scars already. that’s the chainring though, not the pedal, so congrats on your initiation. the good news is those heal up surprisingly fast. the bad news is you’re gonna keep doing this until you learn to ride in actual cycling shoes instead of sneakers. flat pedals with regular shoes are a recipe for your foot slipping off mid-pedal stroke. happened to me constantly until I switched. get some gloves too if your palm is still raw from the wipeout, because riding bare-handed while it’s healing is miserable.
