Thant this is 14 years old, stay away from that..
For that money you can buy great hardtail or really budget fully

  2. Great bike for the time it was released. Dunno if it’s worth over $1k tbh.. I’d offer $500 tops

Personally I think you can find something less dated in a similar price range that would suit you better.

I’d look for something w 27.5-29” wheels, 34mm forks, and boost spacing on the wheels (i prefer through axel). But it is a cool bike and most definitely will put a smile on your face, so if it speaks to you I definitely wouldn’t condemn it even if the price is higher than I’d pay

Odds are upgrades/replacement parts will be a very limiting factor

  4. Id’ perhaps offer $500. That’s insane price.

Go onto Pinkbike and search the Buy/Sell section and have someone ship you a bike from where they’re selling it used. You can get a much better price.

Used bike prices will also continue to baffle me.

I sold my 2023 5010 for $2k last year lol.

Pass too much for dated bike. I had this model and it’s mostly fun. That dropper post sucks though It’s hydraulic and does not have a spot for internal routing.

  7. Sort of a mixed bag. If you could snag it for $400-$500, you could just ride the wheels off it until you’re ready to upgrade. But for $1,100 you can absolutely do better. I personally would recommend a higher-end modern aggressive hardtail over a full suspension this old.

They made the 7th gen Hecker until 2016. It was their only alloy option. I bought the last model year and had the lifetime warrantee. It was great until I let it fall off my bike rack on the highway. Since then I don’t trust it and moved on to a HT and other Full Sus.

It’s a very good bike for the price but do see if you can get linkage parts online first. It does a lot of up-and-over that my long slack bikes can’t do. 150/150 with a short wheelbase by today’s standard.

  9. I still have a Superlight from that era. Still an awesome bike, but definitely not worth anything near $1k in today’s market.

     For $500 that’s a sick bike IMO.

Stay away. For a first mtb you should look at some hardtrails like treck marlin/xcaliper or orbea laufey if you want somethig more radical

  11. I sold one like 5 years ago and got $600 for it and it had a brand new 1x drivetrain and xt brakes I had just installed. Even my buddy that had one sold his and he never sells bikes. Nice entry level single pivot in the day, but for that $$$ I’d pass.

It’s an older code sir, but it checks out.

Issue really is the price. Seller is clearly “manning the glass bbq” – I wouldn’t pay even 900 aud for this, let alone what I assume to be 1k + freedom dollars.
