  1. Yep. Both sides too. Same spot. I’ve been putting off replacing it since it’s barely worn.

  2. It’s not delaminating or anything. Just undo the wrap from the end. Only the final two twists are untidy. Redo the twists as you like and retape the end to seal it. It’s a matter of 2 minutes. It would take you more time to write to Canyon.

  3. Yes, the same thing happened to my stock canyon bar tape and it also started deteriorating in that same spot after only a few months.

I ended up replacing it with Silca nastro bar tape and it’s significantly better in durability, grip and cushioning. I regret not doing that sooner.

Don’t listen to all the nonsense these folks are selling you as advice. I’ll tell you, unwrap the ends where it’s messed up.. then re-wrap that part.

This speaks a lot to your riding posture and pressure areas. You should investigate your posture. Possibly moving the seat slightly back to shift balance to your core and off your hands

  6. Yes happened with my bike also. Canyon either uses cheap bar tape or does a bad job wrapping or both. I just ordered new tape and wrapped it myself.

  7. Yes, the new tape sucks. I made a thread a while back trying to figure out who the supplier was for Canyon tape back in 2018ish. I shit you not, my old Aeroad was 6 years and 30,000 MILES and still looked new, never unraveled, tore, etc. My new Aeroad that isn’t even 2 years old has destroyed tape, slides out of place and gets gaps like that.

I did some research and I **think** Ciclovation was the OEM supplier. I ordered tape from them but just got it a couple weeks ago and havent opened it yet.

I mean really, anything is better than this new tape. Straight 🗑

Had the same issue on my Inflite albeit I get the same issue on all my drop bar bikes after a few months of use. Just unwrap it and rewrap it
