No glue is needed, nor would you want glue in your grips if you want to replace these down the line.
Clean the handle bar and slide them on.

Traditionally full fat coke or hairspray work well, you can use a bit of urethane resin, but that’s probably overkill.
Rental used to make a bar grip glue, not sure if they still do, but if you’re using it or urethane then you’ll be cutting your grips off down the line.
Isopropyl alcohol also works well, use liberally, slide the grip on and slightly stretch the grip along the bar, when the IPA evaporates they’ll stay until they get properly drenched.

Isopropyl alcohol is your best bet it’s what I use on my grips they’re still solid two years later.

Thanks guys I’ve always used hair spray with other grips. Only reason I ask with the Brompton grips as they were glued on.

I just use spit, been using it for decades….& to remove them, just ease them up a bit with a flat blade screwdriver, to get some spit under them, & twist off. Then you can re use them again.
