You’re showing the extremes of cross-chaining, which you should never do in practice.

  2. there really isn’t a time that you’ll need to be maxed out on either side, but there might be a few times that you’ll use small/small. if you have hust a bit of tension on the derailleur on small/small, that’s pretty much where you should be. big/big is bad, if you are on the large chainring and need to go slower or have more power for a climb, before you get to the big on the rear, drop the front to the middle ring anyways.

Ok thank you. So it appears to be good then? It’s been something I was concerned about for a bit.

  4. So, it seems you have no room to adjust anything. Just avoid the s-s & l-l.

    Looks good.
Big big and small small are never where you want to be. It’s just always best that the bike can do it so you don’t rip the drivetrain apart if you did shift there unintentionally.

No. Looks about right. Don’t use that gear to much though if you can,

You’re not supposed to do small-small or large-large, but if you did it and didn’t break anything the chain length is ok
