Cycle commuting should be a safe and healthy way to get to work in the city, but that’s not always the case, and it doesn’t take much to stir up the anger between motorists who feel like they are losing space and cyclists who want a bit more protection on the roads.
Glasgow is seeing big changes with its development of cycling infrastructure, and more and more people are being encouraged to get on their bikes into and around the city.
I thought I’d take a spin on some of the paths to find out if the cycle lanes were fit for purpose, and whether Glasgow is heading in the right direction or not.

  1. Enjoying the videos, now the weather is better I am going to be getting back out on my bike, you have inspired me šŸš“šŸ»

  2. Another great video, Richard. Really interesting content. I tend to stick to rural routes myself, but great to see the urban infrastructure developing in a positive way. Nice one šŸ‘

  3. Thanks for your videos Richard. I’m enjoying them. Cycling lanes in Glasgow have definitely improved since I started using my bike. It feels so much safer to have segregated lanes now

  4. In newcastle, paralleling northumbria street, which is like that pedestrianised area you cycle through, there is a massive segrigated cycle lane that completely solves the issue of having to go through that buisy area. There is also places to lock bikes on most of the entrances to the high street which i think is super good. Just like how you wouldent cycle through a shopping centre thats sortof an outdoor 'inside' where you can still cycle responsably of needed.
