First post! I am looking for a front rack that would work with my Giant xtc 4 from 2006. I use the bike mostly for nursery runs/family rides/shopping with a bike seat on the rear so want a front rack for some storage. I do not have mounts on the fork legs or crown so am limited. I have added a picture of the head tube and tape measure. Does anyone have any ideas?
I have looked at:
AltranVelo Cargo HT – love this and the idea of AVS/Beat bag but can’t work out if it will fit? AI tells me it won’t. Fitting instructions don’t seem available. If it fits, I am probably buying this!
Stecco headset front carrier – similar to the above but a lot heavier and no integrated bag mount system. Definitely looks like it would fit.
Topeak Tetrarack M1 – looks versatile but id prefer the weight to stay stationary.
Any advice would be massively appreciated!

What about Wholegrain Cycles Jack the Rack? Old man Mountain’s Elkhorn?

Jack the bike rack. I have one and it works on any bike with handlebars. I have put it on a Cannondale with a lefty fork, a fully rigid Rockhopper, a road bike, gravel bike, and a fat bike. For light loads (11lbs or less) it works very well. It also is a little limited on height to about 12″. You can pair it with a Wald 137 half basket. I put a rear trunk bag on mine. Just a cheap Rock Bros one. Installation is completely on the handlebars and steer tube.

Old Man Mountain makes several options for fitting racks to suspension forks. They have a bunch of axle mount kits that go with their divide rack which can carry up to 70 pounds.

    What about these?

First one is more expensive because it has a little side-wall around the base.

Check to see if you have a screw hole on the rear of the black horse-shoe shape holding the two fork legs together. I think a lot of Suntour forks do and my last set did have this. It’s not all the way through the metal but it was enough for me to attach a mudguard, so a front rack would be possible.

If the forks do have a partial screw hole then all you would need to do is attach it from behind by going underneath. Or without weakening the curved metal bracket, you could turn it upside down and shape it away from the rack so you can come in from above. Or with the right tools, a garage full of parts and an A-Team / MacGyver mindset you could create your own bracket.
