We are currently planning our summer bike trip (beginning of july) through the Czech Republic.

We did comparable tours in the last years in Germany/France/Belgium/Netherlands so we know the basic stuff.

But are there any special things to keep in mind while traveling there? Issues with police/people during wild camping? Problems finding drinkable water? Places to avoid or absolutely visit? Any route suggestions?

  1. avoid prague (horrible for cycling) and make a detour tru šumava/bayerische wald

  2. I’ve cycled through whole Czech Republic from Vienna last summer. It was an excellent experience. Prague is not cyclist friendly but the countryside is great.
I would try to add Moravia if you can. People are very friendly.
Camping is in their blood for Czechs so they have very good quality camping areas.
Apart from certain protected nature reserves, its free to camp outside so official campings are far away from each other.
