Had problems with creaking from dirt. This completely prevents that dirt can get between the seatpost. I’ve been riding it for ~1000km and never hat creaking again!
For the leafspring seatpost, fold some tape gently in half (sticky sides outside), slide it inside the post. Then cut it in half, stick the ends to the post, finish it with some tape around the post.

that’s stupid design
I’ve been riding mine for 4 years and never had a creak. I sometimes deep clean with strand of yarn.
Interesting fix. I cut a wedge of black foam and slid it in to the void between the leaves. Looks like a solid post from a distance, retains its usefulness and keeps crap out.
