Cambridge and Somerville are like mostly one way roads, so on many of them they made the easy move of dropping parking on one side and adding either just a double yellow or a better protected contraflow lane like this.
Very feasible to be done in any city imo; obviously because of size, a bike going the wrong way in a one-way is not nearly as bad a problem as a car doing it, and this is a good way to formalise it instead of obscurely outlawing it
