Nice work! Couple of questions if you don’t mind –
1. Which direction did you go?
2. Any standout experiences?
3. How did you get to/from the start and finish lines home?

What was your favourite section of the ride? Would you change the route in any way?

Sounds awesome – what was your method for finding a place to camp for the night?

Well done, that’s some adventure.

Congratulations on completing an epic journey. How did the lead up/ planning go, anything you’d do differently? How long did it tend to complete?

That looks like something! Congrats!
I’m about to head over to Cornwall beginning of next month and the whole situation with wind is completely random (well not exactly but you get the idea). I don’t know if I would have survived this long, that takes some state of mind.

Amazing! How was the Pennines section? What camp set up were you running? Looks nice and minimal.
How did you find the route up the side of the pipeline near Killin. I have to say that really pissed me off lol I did it in 2023 and I had 21 days of sunshine, sorry to rub it in but the weather couldn’t have been better for me! Did you camp at the top of the Corrieyairack Pass? The sunrise up there is something I’ll never forget! Well done for completing it, I know how tough it is!!

How much slower do you think you would have been on a MTB opposed to a gravel?
Why do you think it is ment to be ridden south to north?
Longjumping_Bat_3321 on
Would still do gravel. Mtb would be fine too. It’s personal preference I guess. You’ll make ground up on the gravel, logging road sections.
Why ride north? H that’s difficult to explain. Having ridden it and read about it that’s how it was designed and I agree. Some of the climbs and then the down hills I was happy with a punchy climb and a long long down.

Awesome, so did you just set up your tent in the evening at some place and then left early in the morning? Did you ever experience any problems?
What kind of repairs did you do on your bike?

What was the rough split between full asphalt with car/truck traffic vs more quiet ride where you didn’t have to pay attention to the traffic that much?

Congrats!
I’m looking at doing a slightly shorter bike packing trip in the Netherlands.
Just curious what things you brought that you think you didn’t need, and what you should have brought that you didn’t bring.
Do you have any recommendations on what bag setup to use? Any must haves? Any suggestions of bags to use?

Impressive mate. Is the route available anywhere? I might not ever do all over it but I’d like to do a few chunks where I can

Are you allowed to wilderness camp in Britain like that? Do you need permits?

I don’t know much about riding in England. I take it this is substantially different from LEJOG?
