My son likes to skateboard at the skatepark.. a few kids ride BMX bikes and he would like me to get him one! He is 7 (8 in 3 months) 49” tall and is comfortable on a bike.. should I be shopping for a 16” or and 18” or just the best deal I can find?
My son is turning 12 and wants to get into freestyle BMX. He rode a bike at Walmart and it was ok, then we went to a local bike shop and he rode a Sunday that he liked. They are asking $450 (plus another $45 for two pair of pegs) compared to the $200 Walmart bike. Not knowing if this will be something he’ll stick with, will the Walmart bike last him a couple of years? He wants to grind rails in the local skatepark, so I expect he’ll put some wear and tear on it.
