Cambridge is the first UK city to adopt this European style cycle street, but it hasn’t adopted the laws which help to keep cyclists and pedestrians safe in these shared environments.
Let me know in the comments what you think of stuff like this? Do you think this would work in your town or city?
By the way, I’ll get back to making Ticket Inspector soon, this is just a break in the normal broadcast to bring you this exciting news.
Big thanks to all of you and major thanks to those Patreon people who keep these videos in business.

Does a crossing pedestrian have priority over a cyclist? If not, does it make the road safer for a pedestrian? Is there a maximum speed for cyclists?
As a cyclist myself I cannot understand why people on bikes wear head phones and ear buds. Most are noise cancelling these days. As I cyclist you should for your own safety use all your senses to the max.
And there was me thinking the red was to disguise the blood splatter 😳
Those green spots could be made into (short in height) perennial gardens. Great. Love the timing of your vids, by the way
The law in Holland/Europe is – "Priority to the right" (right hand drive). There may be many lanes on one's right when turning that way 🧐
Great video thanks for showing the positive, uplifting vibes in Cambridge.
I love you guys just want to make that clear. With that said I personally don't agree with some of the issues regarding "presumed" liability. I think everything has to stand on it's own two feet, there should never be presumption of guilt.
So nice 😊 to see you so Soon ……Thank you for sharing your journey with Us
Interesting vlog

What is the auto speed limit on this bike street? That also makes a big difference in the Netherlands too.
yet still van man pulls up on double yellow lines @6:10 so its all well and good but as usual no policing or enforcing, If they cant afford to police, at least it should be fully camera-ed . As before long vehicle drivers do what they want and everyone then copies.
I drive a lot in Cambridge, it looks a good idea in theory, however, not all cyclists stop at traffic lights and at pedestrian crossings. Some cycle on paths. As in your video there were a few cyclists who weren’t wearing helmets, believe me, a lot don’t. So making motorists assume liability for cyclists is already a great concern. Also why not make it mandatory that cyclists have insurance? Great video and miss you guys ❤🤗
It’s a mystery why you’re in Cambridge and what you’re both doing. Of course it’s non of our business but we would love to know. Moving to and living in Cambridge is a fascinating subject. If you want to do a few videos on this it would go down well.
Doesn’t the motorist pay for the road through their petrol tax. What do cyclists pay?
Very good video, thank you for that. Pity about the negative sounding title though, could you change it ?
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Are helmets not compulsory in England ?
I’m all for cyclists, I want more cycle lanes and fewer cars in cities. I just wish London cyclists, especially in rush hour wouldn’t keep ignoring traffic lights especially when I’m crossing the road. Red lights mean stop. 🛑
I used to walk to work along that road twice a day (it looks much nicer now). Thanks not only for the trip down memory lane but also another very interesting video! 🤗
You just know the traffic wombles are just itching to start issuing fines to anyone and anything that moves in the UK, I am surprised this is not a ULED zone, and there are not ANPR cameras every 50 meters.. You cannot have a car/bike street, either or… or a dedicated lane for cars.. Cyclists are a problem and so are car drivers, and two angry parties are unable to reach compromise..
Looks like a step😂 in the right direction. Think it may take a while to achieve the right mind set of all participants
All these 🚲 ways are great but not if your disabled and a wheelchair user and need your car to get into towns.
so do cyclists have to give way to pedestrians wanting to cross the road?
I like the shot when we saw your little feet peddling fast
Oh it'll take off in Cambridge because most are as thick as shit and wouldn't know a smart city if it got up and smacked them in the face.
