All this aero obsession and race numbers are still in the stone age.
Demi needs to do an attack from the back of the group and create a speed differential. She was clearly the strongest, but you aren't going to drop anyone at this level trying to ride them off your wheel, when they get the drafting benefit.

What are Holmgren and Niedermaier doing behind Vollering's back at 3:01? Both of them looked so relaxed on the climb, maybe they should have been more agressive uphill. Also surprised to see Holmgren dropped on the descent as mountainbike pro.

gotta give Longo Borghini credit for fighting to stay in the mix. She has an all-rounder build yet she can still limit her losses in the mountains. 15sec isn't bad

Niedermaier should’ve attacked. She was still nose breathing at the end. She looked in great form. Reckon she may have missed a trick there. Still, she could be saving all her efforts for a bit attack on Finestre. Interesting gc watch.
Can't really understate the role Dickson played today, especially considering it's her first year at this level (wasn't even cycling competitively 3 years ago). Also considering that she was 6th on gc at the start of the day and held virtual maglia rosa on the road, but gave up her chances to support demi through the second half. Even managed to drop reusser with her pull on the hills

I wish they would race at least 2 weeks and not just one! But great to see the longer stages compared to the womens Vuelta which was really lackluster.
