Montenegro has been one of the most stunning countries in Europe to cycle through with absolutely no end of spectacular views. In this video we cycle our last section of Montenegro from Duzi to the border of Albania near lake Plav. We have a habit of taking unconventional routes and spend time negotiating dietary requirements and cultural and translation issues while bikepacking along the way.

Bonjour, It’s lovely to see you out on these trails, surrounded by nature and far from the traffic. I really appreciate the quality of the video and your feedback! I find the Hannah’s bike wobbling a bit odd. When I was assembling my touring bike (an vintage de-motorised e-bike with a very sturdy rear rack + basket and a strong aluminium frame), I distributed the weight evenly, mainly using waterproof rucksacks (without the shoulder straps) and camera cases, as they’re ultra-light and have fastenings all over. So, my handlebars with the front suspension are almost as heavy as the rear, and this creates balance and perfect stability. I had initially fitted everything to a very nice steel bike with a belt drive but it was too flexible and it wobbled under the load, which could have caused a fall. – I used to be a vegetarian (with a few rare exceptions), but I love cheese made only from raw milk that’s matured and mouldy (=probiotics); however, I had to stop due to the ‘diabolical’ medicalisation of animals, and reluctantly, I became vegan. I eat well but have to cook everything myself, except for sardines, kimchi and basic organic tomato sauce. To combat allergies and asthma, as a young person I started eating healthily with free medicinal & comestible plants and noticed that without allopathic medication, my allergies disappeared. I’ve also learnt a great deal about alternative medicine from looking after children who had never been vaccinated and who, even as adults, have health of steel. Wheat is genetically modified, as are so many other grains. I eat buckwheat and lentil porridge with vegetables that are as natural as possible. In these Eastern European countries where people grow and produce everything themselves, I think I’ll be able to eat a bit of everything, but I’ll be careful about where the food comes from and will never eat in a restaurant. The image of the kickstand designed to break says a lot about modern bicycles and their structural obsolescence. I wish you a pleasant journey and Bon vent (tailwind)^^ P.S.
