We follow a cycling path along the Tagliamento. A river that winds through the valley like a long strand of tagliatelle. Though the Italian language police would without any doubt remind me that the name has nothing to do with pasta. Tagliare means to cut, so it probably refers to the way the river slices through the landscape, branching and carving its channels over centuries.
