The journey started by getting the 11.10 train in Drumcondra, arriving in Mullingar at 12.30 and cycling back to Dublin along the Royal Canal banks to the start of the canal at the 1st Lock in North Strand Dublin 1. Arriving at 4.30pm.

The trip was on Wednesday, 17th September, a very mild autumn day with a good south westerly wind that made the journey very pleasant. Using a Canyon eBike with a Bosch CX 250w motor with pedal assist up to 25 KPH.

  1. Thanks for uploading this. Good production. I was going to do the same trip last weekend. In the end I decided to cycle a round trip from Dublin Connolly. I got as far a Enfield. I had a hard tail mountain bike. Beautiful scenery. Aching legs and saddle sore on the way back.

Credit to all who worked on the this greenway. What was a dumping place when I was young is now a well used amenity.
