A helicopter drops into our morning like a plot twist nobody ordered, blades whipping the calm out of an industrial backstreet. For a moment, everything feels very real, very fragile, and our own small concerns shrink to the size of a weather icon on a phone screen.

That screen keeps stealing glances from us all day. A four out of ten sky, soggy paths littered with branches, and a river that looks suspiciously pasta-shaped but behaves nothing like comfort food.

Detours save the day, and the Tagliamento carries on slicing the valley with quiet confidence while we roll toward Cormòns. There’s sun just long enough for a terrace pause and a wonderfully strange chat with a man bargaining with his own age.

Then the sky finally cashes in its threat. Thunder rattles the vineyards, rain drums on the roof, and we listen safely from indoors. Tomorrow is a rest day, and the weather can do whatever it wants.
