No doubt about it, Jonas Vingegaard is the best rider at the Giro d’Italia. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

He can’t stop winning and at the time of uploading, is cruising to the pink jersey. He’s not only the best climber, but has a strong Visma-Lease a Bike team around him to support his chase for the maglia rosa.

So that got me thinking… what would happen if Vingegaard didn’t have a strong team around him, but actually had the WORST team on the startline at the Giro d’Italia. ๐Ÿซข

Enter, Bardiani! The Italian Pro team have been in the peloton for a long time and produce great Italian climbers regularly, such as Giulio Ciccone. However right now, they don’t have a team that can support Vingegaard’s chase for his maiden Giro d’Italia title… or do they? Let’s find out.

They’ll have to take on climbs such as the Passo Giau on stage 19, and the Piancavallo on stage 20 to make it happen!

  1. Really good video. I love any of these one off experiment/challenge videos.

I don't like the idea of a salary cap as a concept just purely based on the fact that it is anti-worker but a video like this is a great argument for it. Imagine how fun GTs would be if the top GC favourites always had some of the weakest teams around them. It would genuinely make cycling incredibly exciting.
