are you on some specific diet?
Kate’s own County or is it Gods ? Loving it ❤
Such a great place to ride! I’m literally 5 minutes away I’m so lucky. Haven’t actually ticked off any of the climbs other than Tan Hill
Always wondered, why haven't you moved to the Yorkshire Dales?
I'll let you in on a little secret, you can simply live your life w/o making a video of it.
Your joy of the Dales is infectious – I love it there, too. Thanks for sharing your ride.
Just love your enthusiasm…… Also love the dales myself!
Can you put a link to your Strava gpx route so I can follow the route please
Your love for cycling is a joy to watch! My Yorkshire Dales is the Glens of Antrim
Hi Katie! I just wanted to say hello and hope things are going as well when the camera is off as when it is on. 🙏 I know you are only able to check on those posts made soon after you upload videos, so I hopefully you’ll see this Wednesday greeting. 👋👋👋
I could still find you some blissfully quiet bits of the Lakes even for a hot Bank Holiday ride – the biggest difference is the 2hrs of traffic getting out of there at the end of the day. But it’s not a secret that I prefer the Dales, if I had to choose.
That sheep breeds an XL Woolies 😂
Did struggle in dales on Sunday 150 mile can confirm it was bloody hot 😂
Katie and sheep 'Sheepie'
Loving the area!
What a beautiful area to spend hours riding a bike . I know some places in th3 Dales as I went a couple of weekends for hiking routes
It's prob not going this year but next time in the UK I'm definitely visiting this area and off course the lake district with my bike.
Great scenery , quiet roads ,finishing the day in a pub with a pint and fish and chips …just dreaming 😂
Great vid Kate 🎉
I love the area, although I am mountain bike I love reeth swaledale Fremington and all that area to ride
Like you although I am 61 the area is a very special place to be and ride 😊
I live 30 minutes from Hawes and I don't have your hill climbing ability but I feel very lucky I can do loops from Reeth and Hawes. I take the train south from Garsdale to Skipton and then ride north to Garsdale (cafe at Ribblehead Station is worth a stop but check opening times). I agree 100% with what you say, It is beautiful country and it is a great support for physical and mental health.
I did the Fleak on Sunday from Reeth side during the Struggle 10. Wasnt as hot as Monday, but a glorious 14 hrs in the saddle, which you cant beat 😁Also did Coal Road, which I saw one of your previous vidoes contain, that was a beast
It’s pronounced “reet nice”! My Dales are the Dales, we loved it so much we moved here.
Awwwww Katie, what a lovely video!
Never apologise for being emotional or rather passionate about what you love ❤
And the pure joy of feeding the sheepies, you were clearly in 7th heaven! Who needs bikes when Katie is around sheep 😂❤ bl**dy brilliant.
I live down south, where its too frantic and whilst there is some beautiful countryside, there isn't the vastness and majesty of the Yorkshire Dales or the Peak District, so I am deeply envious that's its on your doorstep (relatively speaking)
Thank you as always Katie and did you manage to smuggle one of those sheep away and back home on your bike? ❤
Amazing vlog Katie I love watching reuben on 5 for the views of the dales hard hills
Those sheep look positively demonic! 😈
For me it's the Cotswolds, just an hour pedal away, but like going through the back of the wardrobe. I never tire of riding around them.
The camera never does it justice. Katie’s enthusiasm on the other hand says it all! ❤ Wherever you are in the world, you need to plan a visit for yourself to Gods own country.
Dales, bird song in spring, sheepies and blue skies … fabulous! My “Dales” location isn’t where I live in Canada … it’s actually The Peak District! Have never been on a bike abroad but I loved rambling in the Peak … last time was 2011 … magic! 🚴🐑⛰️🌞
Glad you enjoyed it!
Was gutted to miss it…but the day after Struggle 10 would have been very silly! I see you have the Prime bars fitted – how have they been?
What idiots have their dogs out in that weather? Especially puppies
Katie I’m just a little north of you in County Durham. It’s amazing here too 🎉🎉🎉
You MUST marry that farmer chappie, assuming he is free to do so! If that isn't possible, see if you can become a weekend "cover" if he wants time off.
If you don't have a summer affair, ask him if he likes autumn evenings on a hay cart, cider, and parties. (OK, so my only source of info is Thomas Hardy, George Elliot, Bronte sisters etc)
I would happily watch him talking about 'this mother rejected her lambs' that one xxxxxxx whatever, something dramatic. Then we have sheep sales; will it cover debts, essential investments and upgrades, a reasonable life, followed by deep snow, hard frosts, floods etc
Live close to Reeth. From Tan Hill taking the great Kirby Stephen / Nateby descent means a nip into Cumbria and a cheeky climb back up Lamps Moss and the best of descents over maybe 10 miles back to The Buttertubs.
What a great, smashing ride! You’re happy dance when you got to see the sheep says it all. Loved to see that emotion during your monologue at the end… you seemed truly In The moment, and appreciating the fullness and connection. We appreciate you sharing that candid emotion with us, and inspiring us to connect with what brings us joy and feeling fulfilled in life… love it. ❤
Definitely gonna have to try that Yorkshire malarkey aren't I? The terrain reminds me of going over the top near the " Cat and Fiddle" on the way to Matlock, looks lovely no wonder you were happy 😊
Fall in Vermont is spectatular-
It’s been raining ☔️ a bit in Melbourne so been thinking of you riding in uk. Glad a vid has dropped, I saw blue skies at first I thought you were in Spain again 😂
Over the years there have been quite a few films that feature cycling the most famous I suppose being Breaking Away and American Flyers however one little British film from 1949 tops them all and that is A Boy, a Girl and a Bike, the reason it’s so good is because it was filmed in The Dales, watching it now takes you back to a time when there were no cars and cycling around the Dales was the only way to see its magnificent beauty. For me I could never leave this area it’s in my soul whether cycling on or off road fell running on the tops or just having a gentle walk by one of its rivers The Dales is my heaven.
The dales is beautiful BUT for me it's the LAKE DISTRICT 😍 every time the car approaches those beautiful hills I get excited eveytime. I have got a lot of rides to do though in the dales. Great video Katie ❤
No battle of the Roses?
Really love your video, especially the scenes with the sheep and lambs. ❤ And I came to follow you because of your emotional openness about cycling and all life related. So please don‘t apologise and just stay as your are. 😊💕
awesome. I live in Forest of Bowland so ride in the Dales and the Lakes all the time, but I still get super excited every time I go there even tho its where I grew up. . . . theyre very special places, they have a real magic to them, which after 47 years hasnt subsided one bit. I guess the only way I can describe it is 'being home'. . .I think a lot of us northerners feel that way, a real connection to these places.
Hi Katie Yorkshire looks good wish l was there on my bike alittle hot l see in England l am in Australia soon too be winter great too ride the bike
As an ex Yorkshireman, here in Australia since 1971. I remember my Holme Moss loop ride, from Holmfirth up and over and back via A628/A616 was a quiet road then sort of.
😇🚴♂💅👍🫀
Thanks for another video , last Saturday evening I enjoyed a ride out to haweswater and the views are incredible, it’s a nice quiet dead end road loved it definitely be back ⛰️
