To those of you who recommended against the Mercedes Benz bike yesterday – thank you. I am now going for this at the same price. Better choice? Worth the money? (around €500).
Looks nice and from what I can see this one had solid components. Not familiar with Koga but from their websites the bikes look well constructed. Hopefully others join in with thoughts.

Better choice, and if in good condition worth it. Do they give any info on model name, components, frame tubing, etc?
Koga-Miyata are well respected, especially with the touring crowd. This is a trekking bike, made for touring on rough roads and gravel etc

I have a similar Koga Miyata that I bought for 300 euros. It was in worse shape. Got it fixed up as good as possible and have done a few tours with it. Havent ha any real problems with it but I also attribute that to good maintenance by my excellent local bike repair shop.
Replaced the cassette etc. with 30 speeds for more comfortable touring. Be mindful of that front suspension though, check if it is in good shape because from what I understand, they don’t make them anymore. Mine still does the job but has a bit of instability which causes the bike to wobble a bit when going downhill fast.

Koga makes some really nice trekking bikes but the specific model matters. I can’t figure out which one this is.
A lighter, model is fine for light touring and bikepacking but maybe don’t put a full set of Ortlieb panniers on it and go on a world tour. The frame will be too flexible for that.
A heavier duty frame will take a fully loaded panniers setup no problem.
This looks like it would make for a really nice drop bar gravelbike as well if you’re up for some tinkering and spending money.
