Pigs fly, sharks stroll the countryside and the trolls and ogres strut around in the forests. We found one of the aforementioned trolls near an abandoned fridge behind the trees in our local forest. Story is that she’d been sitting there gnawing at the empty fridge for quite some time now, anyway, we decided to bring her home and build her up like the beast she is. Here you have the direct result of that interaction. Enjoy!

  1. Just curious how you like the 27,5s on there and what you thought of the new bridge club? it seems like the troll but build around the 27,5 rather than 26. thinking of building somethign similar but i dislike that surly only sells the bridge club fully built.

  2. Love the video many thanks. Did you have any need to face head tube, bottom bracket etc or can i get away without buying those expensive tools?

  3. Your gf can build bikes. Heaven. Treat her well and don't let her out of your life.

Curious though why you used Avid BB7 CABLE brakes rather than SLX hydraulic disc brakes as you used SLX discs and chainset? SLX brakes would be far far far better. I changed the BB7s on my Troll for hydraulic XT disc brakes and they are so much better. No maintenance in 30k kms save for changing pads on the front and of course occasionally cleaning them. No rubbing or squealing just good braking in all weathers. Totally self adjusting.

Also do you think the Specialised Pizza rack would fit on the Troll fork? I know you put one on your Ogre. I got the Surly front Nice rack but it is just so heavy 1.4kg with the plates and bolts before you even put any panniers on it. It's good but made of iron = HEAVY.

    Thanks for making and posting.

  4. Only one question. Avid BB7 brakes are compatible with SLX IceTech rotors? I heard some rumors that there may be compatibility issues .. Thanks! Beautiful bike anyway!!

  5. Hi good video it is thank you. If you use 27.5 wheel with v brake compatible is there any v brake set 26& 27.5 compatible. I know just paul but it is 300$ pair so expensive. Do you know any other?
