Hello, The derailleur broke off when I was starting from a standstill. Is this for a complaint to the seller? The bike is new, I have 50km on it. Plastic part on the right is crack. Shimano 105 Di 7150

If it’s new and you haven’t mishandled the bike prior to this happening, you should talk to the seller about it.

Without any further info, yes. This is a warranty issue and should be taken back to the shop you got it from.

Yes, take back to the shop. That looks like a warranty failure

People when you get a new bike or even a used bike, ALWAYS give your bike a once over to make sure everything is tight, air pressure is good, etc. Should be do that before every ride anyways. Better safe, than sorry.

Very unusual component failure.

Seen this happen on a 7150 with 30,000 miles on it

Go to the dealer. And keep the pictures for warranty. I had a SLX derailleur snap and had no issues getting a new one.

Warranty issues are easier to deal with than you might think as long as you bought through a shop. Take it back in and show them and they’ll handle it. I had my rear rim crack radially around the entire wheel. Took it back to the shop and they put a new wheel on the bike then and there and took care of the warranty without my involvement. Super easy.

I bought a brand new 2019 stump jumper full carbon with a GX drivetrain. The derailer exploded 3 miles out into the woods after having it for only three weeks. Idk

Warranty.
There should a pin in that joint which is pressed in and can’t be user serviced. If it fell out it’s 100% manufacturing defect.
If it broke it’s not such a clear case but still worth trying warranty (especially if everything else is undamaged, no scratches, no bent derailleur hanger etc.).

You should take it back to the seller.
But honestly, based on the pictures, I don’t take your explanations. I don’t see how it could fail this way. I would more believe in an accident, maybe involving a car that pushed the derailleur or a foot on the derailleur while the bike was leaning on the floor or something like that.
I just don’t see how it can fail this way from a mechanical point of view.
