  1. The track was awful, so it's not a surprise… Remember few years ago, there was a some slalom race in Austria(Saalbach) with the same conditions – hot weather and melted snow, where in the second run even Marcel Hirscher skated last, lost 2 seconds, but still won.

  2. Let’s be honest, it was the conditions. But if he was #15 in the first run, he would have ended nowhere near the podium. That does not diminish his value as one of the best slalom racers out there.

  3. Imo the second best comeback in history. The best one was not in slalom but in the combined. It was, however, in the slalom run of that race. Similarly, from 30th to 1st. Winning for 0.01 second only, 2nd was none less than Marcel Hirscher himself. That tops everything, doesn't it? Especially considering it was not a world cup, even better: the world championship, Sankt Mauritz, 2017

  4. Conditions changed rapidly that day, making the course much slower for the final racers. Still, he took full advantage of the situation.

  5. I remember the conditions were really warm, the track was degrading quickly. The higher skiers were basically skiing on slush. Great performance though
