  1. I recently put together this 1980-something schwinn super le tour. It came with a hodge podge of non original parts, the stem might have been the only original component on this bike (see last post for its condition when i acquired it).

    Mods include shimano 105 cranks, no-name 8speed mtb freewheel, brooks saddle, longer quill stem, no-name bars, cheap-o ergo grips, lambda pedals, and a bell.

    I’ve spent the last week dialing this one in, swapping bars, stem, and saddle, really trying to get a good riding position. It’s fun so far, I haven’t ridden something with wheels this narrow in ages. Almost feels like cheating compared to my 26er

    Steel frame, downtube shifters, 1 inch quill stem…got 3 bikes like that and just love to ride them. Mine have semi knobbies to allow gravel riding too. Like your handlebar, but can’t quite stand one that wide with an old seperated shoulder injury. Wish I could cause that looks very good.
