  1. Your feet came off the pedals mid air, you need to get used to the path the bike follows while jumping and make your body follow along.

I think that you tried pushing the bike down too early for the landing and just threw it away from under your feet, for could be better of course but that’s what I see

Your left foot came off the pedal, it’s hard to tell why exactly. It kinda looks like your legs were locked and you get bucked as a result.

  3. I think it would have helped if your body position had been lower as you went off the lip. Risk of losing contact with pedals would be decreased. Also I think this crash illustrates one of the issues that can occur when imaging that everything is going to be fine, as long as you pop your bum back just before the lip. The potential issue is that you’ll need to center yourself over the bike while you are in the air, so you can land balanced. I don’t see how one can do that without creating even more forward momentum, thus increasing the risk of going OTB. Personally I find it easier and it feels safer to me (when terrain allows) to pump vertically into the bike just before the lip.

It’s kind of hard to say exactly where you went wrong here but your synergy with the bikes movement was off.

The bike lifted and you straightened your legs, so when wheels hit the ground you had no purchase on the pedals and your legs continued to the ground while the bike stopped.

You also seemingly jumped / got air when there wasn’t really a place to get air.

I think if you kept your knees bent and feet securely on the pedals you wouldn’t have wiped out.

Bike position was fine, body position was not.

Hope you’re ok, what are your injuries like?

Probably wouldn’t have happened if you had proper Mtb shoes and pedals.

  6. That’s some pretty horrible bike handling tbh. You really gotta work on the basics dude.

How long have you been riding for? If you’re as new as the video looks (no offense) learn how to ride more technical stuff. Being able to ride a rocky/rooty trail well really teaches you how to control your bike. You looked like a complete passenger in the video.
