After months of cold rainy weather, it was finally April – and to celebrate, I wanted to do something I had never done before: go on my first ever bikepacking trip. I made plans to buy a bike from a local shop, and then journey over 120km to the Western Coast of France in order to reach the infamous Mont Saint-Michel. With only a weekend to complete the journey, this seemed like a foolproof plan… right? But like most of my adventures, things didn’t end up going to plan. The warm sunny weather turned to cold and stormy, and combined with a lack of training and unexpected events, things became difficult very quickly. So, watch along as I bike across some of the most rural parts of Northern France with no real goal but to reach the Western coast.
