Ollie takes Alan and Bernat to the heart of the Lake District to prove that cycling in England is anything but rubbish by tackling the legendary Fred Whitton Challenge. With gradients reaching a massive 33% and iconic passes like Honister and Hardknott standing in their way, can our international riders survive 112 miles of brutal British terrain? Watch to see if they conquer the climbs and finally earn their reward: a classic English “chippy tea.”

What is the toughest ride you've done? Let us know 👇
You should try the badger divide 210 miles of off road hell. My wife and 4 friends are on it right now as I type. 5 days self supported. Inverness to Glasgow.
So this basically is a Wahoo showpiece. Nice… :p
2:00😁😁🤣🤣🤣
You should come ride in France. Very goods roads and you can really go and get lost in the wild overthere. Like in the Pyrénées or in the Macif Central or the Vosges and Alsace, or in Périgord or the mountains of Ardèche. It's really nice.
Ollie talking the whole time , while producin insane power 😵🤣
Awesome video, but would be nice if you included translations for when they're not speaking english.
Chip supper
Probably the Tregaron Dragon audax, 130 miles and most of the way up Everest.
Devil's Staircase is the least of your worries.
'Were just waiting for alan now..Alans off with his legion to invade scotland again…bella giornata..❤..after watching the giro's yesterday stage in magnificent mountains, i get it….Britain's little bijou panoramas are lovely but it aint the passo stelvio…
The majority of ‘Romans’ who built the roads in England and Wales were actually British people who had joined the Roman army, either by choice or under duress. Just not enough actual Romans to serve the empire.
Brilliant video, loved the banter.
But you always get your moneys worth in England, because you get a few more miles out of a route, weaving past potholes 🙂
Well, it is shit…
Good to see mushy peas lad!
Another GCN cycling video. Love it!
well done ollie not only on a smashing time, but a jolly good host too
chippy tea ,yum yum
There are beautiful places to cycle in the UK, but for me it always started with a trip either on the roads trying not to get killed before the nice cycling starts or the car. In Germany, i can cycle for kms without hitting a road or traffic light etc right from home, in the multiple towns and cities i have lived in.
I thought that they were going to serve a chippy tea with pineapple at the end
one of the BEST GCN videos of ALL TIME !!! A CLASSIC
Spain, Drivers do give you a bucket of space while overtaking is once absolute certain fact we don't have here.
More of Alan and Ollie please!
After that aero socks vs aero wheels video, GCN blessed us with another epic one.
I thought Bernat would’ve called some of these climbs the “rampas inhumanas” 😂 those things are steeper than hell 🎉
Epic video again from the GCN team. Great to see the home country and fantastic lake district scenery. And an awesome finish Olly!
Wow – what a great effort. All seriously quick times but Ollie – wow! A chippy tea has never been more deserved. Chapeau GCN team.
Doesn't look like any repairs have been done since the Romans built it. 😅
Giving an Italian pineapple on a pizza is cruel and unusual!
After the intro, I was fully expecting the guys to drop Ollie on the first climb! 🤣
WOW! Ollie is a monster.
Hilarious.
Petition to have a resident ex-pat on a monthly rotation at GCN megabase.
So much shrugging and hand gestures 😂
One of the best videos you've done Ollie, well done lads 😊
Congrats Ollie on a cracking finish time
Cycle toured round the Lakes for a week in my 20's on a Harry Hall tourer, just got my first gravel bike Checkpoint alr 4 gen 3 at 67 years old, a breath of fresh air after bimbling round on my MTB, hoping my body can keep up with what my head thinks I can do, love the video and channel, thanks guys !! 😊
Another 'wahoo' advert.
Alan's training to surviving in the UK was hilarious. Stereotype never goes out of fashion 😆
Anyone else watching from Cornwall thinking those gradients are just a normal days riding, or is it just me?
Really enjoyed this one, laughed out loud with the pizza and pineapple 😂
Perfect a GCN upload, its chill time, been out on a awesome 80 km ride this sunday morning 😁
