I had a chain drop from last ride. It scratched around my bb area. Is it damaged or just needs repainting? I also read about putting nail polish to stop paint chipping further, is this a good thing to do?
It’s scratched and doesn’t need repainting. It’s fine.

Out of an abundance of caution, I would shoot the manufacturer a quick email and ask if you can seal it up with nail polish without voiding the warranty.
There’s no structural damage here, just cosmetic. And it’s totally non-urgent. See what they say for options, they might even be able to provide a paint code for a color match.

Clear nail polish over the scratches and than grab a K-Edge Chain Catcher do it doesn’t happen again

There’s no need to nail polish it. Carbon isn’t going to corrode.
