New supersix is awesome but c’mon man if that bike isn’t lacking, then I would be far more compelled to keep riding it until it’s really done for.

I am proud of your bike. Looks like you had some good times together. Sorry I can’t answer your question.
Edit: I mean.. that’s a great-looking bike with personality. Big tyres to fill..

This is gonna upset a lot of people but the gap from a 90s steel bike to a supersix is smaller than the gap between this supersix and a modern disc bike.
A new supersix evo is going to shock you at how well it rides over bumps, how effortlessly it holds speeds over 30kph.
An old cannondale supersix evo can be a great climbing bike, and looks amazing, but bikes have moved on so much even in just the last 8 years.

I have a gen 4 (previous model) and it’s the best bike I’ve ever ridden. Fast as hell, smooth as hell. Not the lightest, if that matters to you.

I’ve never seen such a large gap between seat height and handle bars. What’s your height?

I did the same upgrade rimbrake sse to -23 sse due to a crash
Personally couldn’t be happier, disc brakes are just so much better and I’m riding wide carbon rims with 30 conti gp5k tr blowing up to kinda 33. Night and day regarding comfort anyone else claiming rims are better are just not putting miles in.
The ONLY thing is that the new sse -23 and latest versions have a longer wheelbase specially front center. Meaning the old SSE had a much twitchier lively feel IMO. Now you can kinda offset it with a modern bike fit (ass over bb) but still rides different. I frankly preferred the old geo.
All in all great upgrade don’t regret it but if you like the nimbleness and twitchiest I’d frankly recommend checking the Tarmac specially seeing as the new one is coming soon

I’m going to suggest buying outside of the PON brands. We just had a premium retailer drop PON all together for being a ‘bad partner’ recently. And I, believe that.
You do really want to buy a bike that properly supports the LBS. The industry is screwed without the LBS.

I have the same frame but feel like I’m wasting it having shallow alloy wheels on it. Would you recommend wheels like yours on this bike for climbing? What would be a good upgrade?

I adore my SuperSix Evo 4. Running 32mm tyres and it’s just a stunning ride, sharp, responsive, smooth riding and looks sexy as hell with deep wheels.
Love the classic bike look but Cannondale just get it right

Dude, why? Your bike is more than enough for 99.9% of anyone and it works as well now as it ever did. IG if you want to get the new one and use this as a backup or beater for rain and snow, etc

Don’t buy the bullshit about how much smoother gen 5 is. Placebo effect and marketing make suckers out of dentists. You don’t need a new bike.
