So just thought I’d share what I found out so far commuting with my C-line (12s, M bar) on belgian trains.

There are at least 3 types of carriages I have identified. In 2 of them the bike fits in between the seats no problem. In the other the one with armrest, it kind of fits but not really. The bike only fits in any of them if you don’t have an H bar because the extended stem interferes.

The bike might fit in all of them if I manage to make the hinge corner narrower, any ideas?

Overall it is a great advantage not having to leave the bike in the hall next to the door… it is often busy with other lesser types of bicycles and steps;) plus you have to keep an eye on it or it could get nicked…

Pictures from one of the wagons in which it fit and one where it doesn’t really.

This works on the Class 800s in the UK as well. You can just squeeze a Brompton in between the seat backs but it’s very tight.

Does the bike jut out into the aisle (as photographed) on all carriages?
