They both use full DB chromoly Direct Drive custom tubesets, so the quality of the frame is equivalent (and fantastic). Buy the tire size you want, 26 or 700c. Either one is a great bike.
Or buy both.

I would switch the rear derailleurs so the silver one is on the Crossroads, then ride the Crossroads. The black derailleur would also complement the black fenders on the Rock Hopper.
