Cowcaddens Road is nearing completion so i got myself out and about to show you the progress so far. The cycle lane is nearly complete and the gentle slope up from cowcaddens is in place as well as a pedestrian path and stairs. This is a safer route than the underpass that is not as steep.
St George’s Road is also looking like it will be ready this year with the works conecting to Garscube road.
After looking at both these Roads I Cycle down to Argyle Street to see how that is coming along and that is also starting to take shape. This wont be as impactfull as the other two when complete as there will still be more to do further along.
Quite pleased to have filmed, edited and published the whole video in the one day.

Amazing stuff!! Does anyone know if there is a map on a website somewhere to show the emerging network/planned network?
Wow. This feels like the moment when the network is really coming together. Can't wait to get to Glasgow again to experience these improvements myself.
Looking really good! Small note, the rain garden on St Georges road is unfortunately not a rain garden (unless I'm mistaken). But because the garden is boarded by curbs, there is no way for water to run into it. The others are real SUDS and the ones on Argyle St are really good!!
Fantastic again mate.
Is there a decent tracker that maps out all the new cycle lanes and confirms what ones are finished?
Tha mi tric air seachnadh a dhol a Ghlaschu ach tha seo na leasachadh. Tha comhairlean eile a’ toirt fa-near.
Bike lanes everywhere . where are the tramlines going to go!
For all the moaning people do about councils in general, hats off to Glasgow City Council for their vision in relation to cycling within the city and in providing safe and effect traffic free routes and to give folk an alternative to driving👍😉🫡
i'm glad it's nearly done. it's always kinda confused me as to why the busiest bus station in the west of scotland never had any cycling infrastructure heading to it. not to mention all the folk at the uni who'd likely want to ride into class but never had the chance.
st george's road feels like one of those missing puzzle pieces that helps a whole network fall into place given things like the skatepark and the canal being on one side, kelvingrove park/west end being on another and city centre being next to it. deffo agree about some fantastic looking buildings around there.
MON THE MAGIC
I am now nourished and informed! 🥰
Amazing images from this city.
I'm slowly getting my partner to cycle, these updates are really helpful for getting the latest on what routes are connected so I can plan routes safe for someone who isn't confident around traffic!
Great to see the network growing. I recently got a bike because of all the cycle infrastructure improvements giving me confidence in getting around the city safely
Whats the problem with cycling on the roads? Uncle used to ride all over glasgow years ago don’t actually need a dedicated place to bike. Pavement for pedestrians road for cars and bikes never seen the problem
Reduce the amount of lanes only leads to increased journey times for cars trucks/vans & buses great planning..not😮
Fucking class
Is there a map somewhere?
Great update looks close in places🎉. Have you noticed the we section between the expressway and Yorkhill is nearly finished? (perhaps some signage and junction treatment to go) looks like other work going on in the area too lots of promise of "connection" that is key to getting these lanes used and useful.
I don’t see why student accommodation is so controversial. Glasgow has 3 universities plus the Royal Conservatoire — tens of thousands of students need somewhere to live.
Purpose-built student accommodation means they’re not all competing directly with families and young professionals in the private rental market. For comparison, Nottingham has two universities, and one of them alone has a dedicated campus with around ten halls of residence. Student housing isn’t a weird luxury; it’s basic infrastructure for a university city.
